Creating a Gathering Place
Our Sasen Story and so much more!
Hans outlines why he and his family decided to stay in their home and renovate and decided to use Sasen Homes & Renovations to proceed with their basement renovation. We worked closely with their family to provide a space that would work for their busy, outdoor, family lifestyle. Hans was happy with the relationship built, in addition to the quality that was built as well.
I highly recommend this company. I am really grateful for the excellent workmanship Sasen Homes & Renovations did for us. Wonderful management of the project and helping with details with our staircase and more. They were extremely polite and professional.
We recently completed two projects using Sasen for all aspects of the job. One was a restoration of the exterior of our 1899 heritage house and the other an addition to the back of the house to put in a new, larger kitchen, laundry room and bathroom. We are very pleased with the results of both projects. The projects were managed extremely well. The various stages of the work were scheduled so that there were few delays nor were we ever overwhelmed with sub contractors all showing up at once. Estimates for both cost and time to completion were generally accurate. Any problems and unforeseen issues were dealt with quickly and effectively. The Sasen carpenters were very skilled, professional and courteous. The quality of their work was excellent particularly in the areas of restoration. We were very satisfied with the sub contractors Sasen used. Matthew was easy to communicate with, returning calls promptly and providing site visits whenever we felt it would be useful.
We would recommend Sasen to anyone considering doing these types of projects.
I have been involved with Sasen and Matt Senf for many years and 3 major renovation/repair projects. Not only have I found them to have high integrity and great access to terrific trades people, they have been super easy to work with and highly responsive to our needs. Naturally, I turned to them when I discovered a problem with my roof. They immediately had Will Franklin of Canuck Roofing come to my house to see what the problem was and to provide a solution. Will was very knowledgeable as well as very friendly and open about what he thought needed to be done. And he did it on the spot at a cost that is too low to mention. Once again this illustrated my good judgement on working with Sasen!
Thanks Matt and Will!
We have been do-it-yourselfers all our lives, and having had bad experiences with hired help in the past, we were somewhat apprehensive about our reno project. But we were very impressed with Sasen’ s first class, quality workmanship. Sasen treated us with respect and we felt our concerns were dealt with openly and honestly. They had solid, achievable ideas, and planning was a gratifying process. It is truly comforting to be able to communicate with a contractor in a meaningful way and feel that he listens and understands, and refrains from pressuring you to do more than you want. The entire process was a very pleasant experience and we felt our money was well spent. We would not hesitate to call on Sasen Designs for any future renovation needs.
After speaking with several homes and renovation companies and seeing homes they had renovated in our area, we decided on Sasen to do our job. Matthew came to our house and we liked him and his values immediately. It turned out to be a very good decision as we are extremely happy with the results. The project manager, Darren, was excellent. He had a great sense of humour, was professional and committed to ensuring the work was properly completed. Ali, his helper, was also a competent worker. All of the contractors coming to our home were professional, respectful of our property and us. The job did take a while to complete, which at times, was frustrating, but it is complete now and we are very happy with the results. The job was completed pretty much on budget, even including the extras we had asked for. We are happy and proud of our home. Thank you for the lovely bottle of wine.
I hired Matthew to work with me on my home renovation of my newly acquired, tiny condo in Kits. I had a relatively tiny budget for my fertile imagination, so it was a challenging job. Here are a few highlights that might be interesting to others looking to hire a contractor:
1. Trust. I found Matthew, his employees and sub-trades to be entirely trustworthy. They did what they promised. They kept me informed and found solutions. Without fail.
2. Quality. These guys do good work. Finishing is where it counts in my view. One example is Peter’s elegant surgery on prebuilt units to fit around plumbing, and into available space. I use these components every day and am so grateful that they look great and work beautifully. Jackie’s practical experience and encouragement helped me accept the possibilities of prebuilt over custom (which my budget would not allow).
3. Humour. This may seem like an odd comment, but, for me, being able to laugh together means there is common understanding. I wanted my contractor to understand me and my vision for my home. Matthew, Peter, Jackie and the crew all shared a lovely sense of humour about the sometimes stressful reno experience, and that gave me confidence that we were all working toward the same goals. That’s important regardless of size of budget. Everyone wants to spend wisely, right?
On reflection, I am delighted with the work Sasen did for me and have no hesitation recommending them.
We have been very happy that we came across Sasen as we were looking to renovate our balcony. Not only was it a job well done at a good price but the service extended, has been nothing short of excellent right from the workers to the management ( Jackie & Matthew). We would certainly recommend Sasen to whoever needs their services.
Over a period of five years we have engaged Sasen Renovations for four substantial renovation projects – both interior and exterior. In working with Matthew one of the many things that stood out is how he partnered with us to consider design options that supported the vision of what we wanted to achieve with our renovation. His team is professional and the work is of outstanding quality. They have a strong eye for detail and were very good with communicating with status updates and next steps. What was also important to us was a level of functionality during the evenings when the renovation was ongoing – our expectations were clearly met and they created a low stress environment on that front!
We have trust and confidence in the Sasen team and have recommended them to others who have in turn reported tremendous satisfaction with their renovation results.
Sasen Renovations is an excellent company. They have provided quick response and excellent service. Their work on our heritage building has been detailed and of top quality.
From the beginning, Sasen Home & Renovations were upfront in their estimate, making us aware of potential changes given the many unknowns involved in installing a new bathroom in our basement. When we encountered unforseen circumstances , we worked through them as a team, always to arrive at a satisfactory solution. Sasen never forced a solution on us, always providing multiple options and honest opinions. They paid attention to the small details; accommodated our schedule by delaying portions of the work to allow us to entertain house guests, and helped carry groceries up our steep, snowy driveway since our garage was under renovation. For what morphed into an extensive renovation, we were both surprised at how little stress it involved in our lives.
This summer we are sharing with you our design stories and tips.
